Share Thanksgiving and Fill the Baskets

Mission Committee would like to thank the congregation for your generous donations of food and money. We collected 269 food items and $667.26 in cash donations. These were shared with The Methodist Service Center & Food Pantry and SW Drive United Methodist Church. Your contributions helped to provide Thanksgiving for 320 clients at The Methodist Service Center & Food Pantry. It also helped SW Drive UMC serve almost 400 guests on Tuesday, November 14, 2017.

Every year in early November, St. James has a Thanksgiving Food Collection Project. Our food collection will go to The United Methodist Service Center and Food Pantry and Southwest Drive Community United Methodist Church.

The sharing of these items will help the United Methodist Food Pantry restock their shelves that have been depleted due to an increased number of families needing assistance.

Southwest Drive UMC will again provide a Thanksgiving meal and food baskets for needy families in the Abilene community.

Our St. James congregation can help supply food items or cash donations. A display will be set up in the foyer with the food items that are needed. The cash donations will go towards the purchase of turkeys, other perishable items, and large cans of vegetables which Southwest Drive Community UMC will use.
