Christmas Mission

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Christmas Mission 2016! You provided toys and clothing for 8 foster children with the Methodist Children’s Home here in Abilene. You made Christmas brighter for the children and provided encouragement for their foster parents.

Additionally, you filled a BIG box with gifts delivered to Friends for Life. These gifts will help us show God’s love to elders and adults with disabilities. They will have a brighter Christmas because you gave.

Also, a big thanks goes to Joy Cassell and J.B. Denson, who helped deliver the gifts.

Our Christmas Mission 2017:

The Mission Committee invites the congregation to participate in the 2017 St. James Christmas project. Again this year the focus will be on the Abilene Methodist Children’s Home Foster Care Program and the Friends for Life Program. Gift ‘wish lists’ will be available on the display in the church foyer beginning Sunday, December 3.

The Methodist Children’s Home satellite office here in Abilene provides Family Outreach Services including foster homes for children experiencing a variety of family difficulties. By providing gifts for foster children under the conservatorship of MCH, we help bring joy to the children and a “thank you” to their foster parents. Gifts will be delivered to the Foster Care office on December 18.

Friends for Life is an organization that advocates for elders and adults with disabilities. By providing gifts for these adults who have little or no family, we help bring encouragement to them during the Christmas season. Gifts will be picked up on December 13.

You can participate in the Salvation Army Angel Tree program this Christmas, by visiting the Angel Tree at the Mall of Abilene.
