Making a Joyful Noise to the Lord at St. James UMC!

St James UMC is very proud of its music program. Jerry Kingston is the director of the Sanctuary Choir and also directs our Handbell Choir. In addition, there is ample opportunity for soloists and small vocal and instrumental ensembles to contribute to worship on a regular basis.

The Sanctuary Choir is composed of about 25 very dedicated individuals who are committed to regular rehearsal (Wednesdays, 7:00 – 8:15 pm) in order to provide special music for worship services each week. In addition, major choral works are prepared for Christmas and Easter. The choir also participates in our biannual Holy Week production, “The Living Last Supper.”

Handbell Choir meets at various times throughout the year and participates in worship on special occasions. Anyone who is interested in playing handbells is encouraged to attend handbell rehearsal! Contact director Jerry Kingston for more information.
