St James Children’s ministry is committed to building a church where children are
taught how to connect with God and one another through devotions, music, art and drama. They make crafts and eat snacks and play.
Sunday mornings are a time of learning and worship for children! We being Sunday School at 9:00 a.m. and have interactive lessons from the bible teaching our children about God and how to love.
Worship is fun for children at St James! All families gather in the sanctuary at 10:00 a.m. Together we hear about what is coming up in the week ahead, next we sing together and celebrate. Pastor Dot leads a children’s sermon and usually has a guest of “Zippidee” or “Max, the dog with a message in his heart” or a member from the “Tator Family”. After the sermon, the children use small galvanized buckets to receive “Noisy Money” from the congregation. St James offers this change to make a change in our world. After their prayer, the children go to their own Children’s Worship time until adult church is completed, typically 11:00 a.m. During Children’s Worship they engage in music, art, drama through lyrics, stories, and characters.
Wednesday Evenings are all about fellowship! St James begins serving a meal at 5:30 p.m. and everyone is welcome. Immediately following the meal, the children are dismissed to make a craft and have some fun. Our Children’s Choir will rehearse occasionally on Wednesday nights for upcoming worship performances.
It is our prayer that every child feels important, loved and a significant member of this church family!
